Granny’s Kids 4-H Club wishes to thank all the auction buyers and the over 230,000 record setting attendees who came to view some 13,000 exhibits and around 2,000 animals at the bi-centennial Great Geauga County Fair that just ended Sept. 5. Thanks to everyone’s hard work, the fairgrounds are already cleaned up and ready for next year.

Members have some great memories. Zeke had a record-breaking pen of market chickens, which sold for $7,000. His Nubian senior doe also won grand champion and best of breed. Ethan won reserve champion market barrow and sixth overall market hog. Lina had the grand champion pen of market rabbits and won reserve best in show with her New Zealand rabbit. Addison was champion intermediate hog showman, had the fifth overall market hog and took second place in goat showmanship. Buddy won grand champion small animal with his guinea pig. The club also sold out in all their flavors of goat milk fudge, selling a record number of fudge in four days.

Granny’s Kids next meeting will be our Halloween party on Oct. 23. See you at the fair next year. (Submitted by Buddy Ferg, news reporter)
