The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services has proclaimed that April is Alcohol Awareness Month and has unanimously passed the following Resolution:

WHEREAS, Alcohol Awareness Month is a national effort to support research, education, intervention and treatment for alcoholism and alcohol related problems; and

WHEREAS, use of alcohol and other drugs is one of the leading causes of death and injury among teenagers and young adults; and

WHEREAS, the Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services is committed to developing, implementing, and improving alcohol and other drug education, intervention and treatment services.

THEN, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

1. The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services hereby proclaims April 2013 as Alcohol Awareness Month in Geauga County.

2. The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services encourages all Geauga County government agencies, public and private institutions, businesses, hospitals, schools and its citizens to participate in activities that recognize April 2013 as Alcohol Awareness Month.

Communities across the nation observe Alcohol Awareness Month each April to draw attention to problems related to alcohol abuse and to inform people about the resources that are available. If you or a loved one are experiencing alcohol related problems, the following local agencies can help:
