‘Three Musketeers’ Swash Buckle into GLTG

Jan. 15-31

“The Three Musketeers,” the 2016 Skip Kelley Youth Production at Geauga Lyric Theater, is already off to a rip-roaring start. The special part of the season honors GLTG’s late and loved tech director Skip Kelley and ties in to his love of mentoring youth, with actors ranging from 14 to 18 years of age.

Director Angela Miloro-Hansen spent several years learning from Skip, someone who instilled love, loyalty and not a little fear in those under his tutelage.

The cast has been working in a manner to make them both proud; learning their lines almost immediately, with fight choreography and weapon wielding right behind. They also love the story.

“The Three Musketeers” will be running weekends Jan. 15-31. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m. and Sunday shows are at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for children 12 and under, $12 for students and seniors and $14 for adults. Call the box office at 440-286-2255 or visit www.geaugatheater.org.

The historic Geauga Theater is located at 101 Water St. in Chardon.

GANG Features Storyteller

Jan. 19, 6:30-8 p.m.

The Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) program will feature award-winning storyteller Robin Echols Cooper at Heinen’s Cafe, 402 Center St. in Chardon. Host for the evening will be musician Nicky Bucur.

Cooper develops and enacts her original works with the goal of inspiring children to read, reach, imagine and create. Her work combines creative writing, storytelling, drama and puppetry.

As a strong advocate for literacy, her performances have inspired thousands of children in schools, libraries, hospitals and community organizations throughout Ohio. She also shares her skills through a variety of venues, training educators to bring more creative methods into their classrooms.

The educational program is free and open to the general public; no reservations are necessary.
