GANG Welcomes Waterloo 7 Sculptor

Feb. 16, 6:30-8:15 p.m.

Jerry Schmidt, whose work can be seen in exhibitions, galleries and public spaces across Northeast Ohio, will be the guest artist at February’s Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) program at Heinen’s Cafe, 402 Center St. in Chardon. Host for the program will be Lake County based creative director Dave Hlebcar.

Schmidt is the son of the late Fred Schmidt, a popular Cleveland sculptor, and the father of Tyler Schmidt, who works with Jerry at their Waterloo 7 Studio/Gallery in Collinwood. The father/son team creates indoor and outdoor art pieces in steel, stainless steel, aluminum and copper for public spaces and private collections.

His pieces can be seen in the permanent collections of University Hospital, the Cleveland Clinic, the Peter B. Lewis Building on the campus of Case Western Reserve University, at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and at Cleveland’s Veterans Administration Medical Center.

The educational program is free and open to the general public; no reservations are necessary.
