WGHS Presents Musical Comedy

March 11 and 12, 7 p.m.

March 13, 2 p.m.

All friends, neighbors and musical comedy enthusiasts are invited to attend West Geauga High School’s performance of the award winning Broadway hit, “The Drowsy Chaperone,” at the West Geauga Middle School stage. Full of mistaken identities, spit-takes, dream sequences and comedic characters, the modern parody of musical comedies is sure to be entertaining.

West Geauga High School actors include Joe Harbert, Gabrielle Trout, Robin McBride, Hannah Fox, Bennett Palmer, Aiden Bryson, Ari Ljubi, Ellis Lyles, Angela Warholic, Zavier McLean, Lily Martin and Chloe Lemieux. The show is directed by Josh Dean and Melanie Kennedy.

GANG Celebrates Celtic Music

March 15, 6:30-8 p.m.

The Geauga Art Network Group’s (GANG) 15th annual Celtic Music Sing-Along in honor of St. Patrick’s Day will take place at the Heinen’s Cafe at 402 Center St. in Chardon. The GANG invites music lovers of all ages to join in the jam session as Chesterland-based minstrel Nicky Bucur is joined by Sperry Creek and other surprise guests who will be performing a lively selection of Celtic tunes.

Nicky Bucur has been bringing his eclectic mix of folk, rock and traditional music to the Geauga community for over 20 years. Sperry Creek is an acoustic group that variously combines hammered dulcimer, fiddle, string guitars, woodwinds and an upright bass.

Both professional and amateur musicians are invited to bring along their own instruments and join in the fun. The program is free and open to the general public.

Jazz Concert

March 16, 7 p.m.

A jazz concert featuring the West Geauga High School and Newbury High School jazz bands will be held at Newbury High School auditorium. Admission is free.

Messiah Choir Returns To Benefit Food Pantries

March 12, 7 p.m. and March 13, 3 p.m.

The Good Tidings Benefit Choir will continue its legacy of raising spirits and funds for the Geauga Hunger Task Force by performing the Easter sections of GF Handel’s “Messiah” at Notre Dame Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson.

The choir is under the direction of Robert Boles and accompanied by Joy Leirer. Soloists this season will be Robert Boles, Laura Christian, Sara Hamrick, Colleen Juhasz, Sylvia Jurcak, Brenda Moosbrugger, Charles Moosbrugger, and Aubrey Woods. Attendees will be invited to join in the Hallelujah chorus.

The performances are free, but a goodwill offering will be taken.
