Early American Portraits
March 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Chardon
Ohio State University’s 2025–26 Artist Laureate Kate Shannon will present “When This You See Remember Me, Exploring early American Portraits” from Ohio State University’s Rare Books & Manuscripts Library. The program examines the emotional and historical significance of cased portraits, including themes of memory, preservation and the evolving role of photographs in modern lives. Participants may stay afterward to work with Shannon and library staff to scan and save analog photos to a USB drive for sharing and preservation.
