Book Sale

Sept. 11-15

Friends of the Library preview is Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. Memberships are available at the door for $5. The sale is then open to the public from 6-8:45 p.m. The sale continues Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.; Saturday, Bag Day,9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.; and Sunday, Donation Day, 1-4:45 p.m.

Teen Gaming Group

Geauga Skywatchers Club

The hands-on club is geared towards ages 12 -17, although all welcome. Classes taught by members of the Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society.

Organizing Your Genealogy

Deborah Abbott, OGS speaker, will give tips on keeping collected information from becoming lost in stacks of paperwork and computer clutter.

Parachute Play

Toddlers, ages 18 months to 3 with a caregiver, will exercise their minds and bodies as they play games with a parachute.

All Aboard the Maple Leaf Route

Sept. 11, 7 p.m.
Join author Dan Rager as he discusses his book “All Aboard the Maple Leaf Route Vol. 2.” Learn more about Chardon as the rail capital east of Cleveland and why it was considered a “Jerkwater” town.

Lego Fun

Sept. 12, 4 p.m.
Youth in grades K-5 will practice engineering, math and creative skills by building with Legos purchased by the Chardon Friends of the Library.

Prepare for Emergencies

Learn how to prepare for natural and man-made disasters. Presented by the Geauga County Department of Emergency Services.

Self-Care Workshop

Paint and decorate a small rock to hide, display, give away or keep as a “worry stone” when one needs to fidget. Learn about skills to manage stress and handle trauma in everyday life. Staff from the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center will be available to share local resources for survivors of sexual trauma and their loved ones.
