Haunted Gingerbread Houses

Oct. 19, 11 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.

Decorate a small gingerbread house. Candy decorations supplied. Feel free to bring one’s favorite candy.

Safest Baby on the Block

Oct. 21, 10 a.m.

Healthiest Baby on the Block will educate on indoor air pollution and dangerous substances that can cause accidental poisonings and health issues. Activities for children will also be available.

Family History Projects

Oct. 22, 7 p.m.

Join moderator Linda Spehn for a presentation of ideas, projects and crafts to share all of hard-fought collected family history information.

Needle Arts Club

Oct. 24, 2-3:15 p.m. 

Work on a project or learn a new skill in a friendly, informal atmosphere. Bring yarn, hook or knitting needles. Size H crochet hook and size 8 knitting needles recommended. Borrow the library’s materials for the session and try it out. All skill levels welcome.

Quilt Block Party

Theme is recycled fabric, fibers and fashions. Bring a sewing machine and any show-and-tell pieces one has. Check online events calendar for details about each project.

Youth in grades K-5 will practice engineering, math and creative skills by building with Legos purchased by the Chardon Friends of the Library.

Upcycled Holiday Cards

Oct. 22, 2 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.

Bring double-sided tape, decorative paper punches and used or leftover cards from previous years to create a new holiday card.

Art Inspired by The Dot

Oct. 23, 2 p.m.

Homeschool youth in grades K-5 will read Peter Reynolds’s story, followed by activities and art.

Bats: Heroes of the Night

Oct. 24, 4 p.m.

Youth in grades K-2 will celebrate bats and discover how beneficial they are.
