DAR Workshop

World War II Akron
Nov. 10, 2 p.m.
Tim Carroll will discuss his book, “World War II Akron.” Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Discover West African Rhythm
Nov. 13, 4 p.m.
Led by native West African Sogbety Diomande, students in grades K-8 will learn the three basic sounds of the African djembe drum. They also learn basic techniques of hand drumming, focusing on the styles found in Sogbety’s native Ivory Coast.

FIN One-on-One Clinics
Nov. 13, 6-8 p.m.
Schedule a one-on-one tech clinic to start using the Funding Information Network. Call to schedule a 30-minute appointment.
Chair Yoga

Nov. 14, 2 p.m.

Local yoga instructor Ann Vickers will teach a class in which postures are adaptations of traditional yoga poses. Bring a yoga mat and beach towels or blankets.

GOT Trivia Challenge
Nov. 14, 7–8:30 p.m.
Join offsite at Cowboy Food & Drink, 8586 E. Washington St., Bainbridge Township to test one’s Game of Thrones knowledge, vie for prizes and celebrate the outcome by helping to raise funds for Bainbridge Friends of the Library. Admission of $15 includes a buffet and soft drinks. Tickets can be purchased at the Bainbridge Branch or Cowboy Food & Drink. Costumes are optional, but encouraged. Ages 18 and up.

Scrapbooking Crop
Nov. 9, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The library’s Ellison die machine will be available. Work on all types of crafts such as scrapbooking, card making, jewelry or iris folding.

Salute Our Heroes Film Series
Nov. 10, 17 and 24, 2-4:30 p.m.

In honor of Veterans Day, join for films celebrating veterans. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided.

Teen Gaming Group
Nov. 11, 4 p.m.

Teens in grades 6-12 can play the library’s Nintendo Switch and old-school board and card games. Snacks provided. No registration is required.

Still Life Art
Nov. 11, 7-8:30 p.m.
Practice techniques drawing a fall harvest. Learn about shapes, composition and shading. Charcoal and paper provided, but feel free to bring supplies. All skill levels are welcome.

Treasures in the Archives
Nov. 12, 7-8:30 p.m.
Archivist Judith Cetina will relay what is housed in the Cuyahoga County Archives and how to use the new facility.

True Crime Addict
Nov. 13, 7 p.m.
Join for stories about local killers and unsolved mysteries from crime reporter and author James Renner.

Painting Makerspace
Nov. 14, 4 p.m.
Different types of paints, surfaces and utensils will be supplied, and staff will be available to demonstrate different painting techniques to students in grades 3-5.

Autumn Book Sale

Nov. 14-16

Geauga West Friends of the Library is open to the public Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturday, which is $5 bag day, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The sale is cash or check only; no credit cards. Veterans will receive a $5 voucher that may be used any day of the sale.

Bananagrams

Join for Bananagrams, a twist on the game of Scrabble. Bring a favorite banana recipe to share. Refreshments provided.
