Duct Tape Fun

Teens in grades 6-12 will be creative with duct tape.
Needle Arts Club

Work on a project or learn a new skill in a friendly, informal atmosphere. Bring yarn, hook or knitting needles. Size H crochet hook and size 8 knitting needles are recommended. Borrow the library’s materials for the session and try it out. All skill levels are welcome.

Totally Radical Murder Mystery

In an interactive program, travel back to the 1980s to solve a mystery at a high school reunion. All participants will be assigned a role. Costumes encouraged. Sponsored by the Chardon Friends of the Library.

Parents and caregivers can join us to discuss books that can be used to cover difficult subjects with their children. During the discussion, children can participate in fun activities in a separate space.

Autumn Book Sale
Nov. 14-16
Geauga West Friends of the Library autumn book sale runs Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturday, which is $5 bag day, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The sale is cash or check only; no credit cards. Veterans will receive a $5 voucher that may be used any day of the sale.
Bananagrams

Join for Bananagrams, a twist on the game of Scrabble. Bring a favorite banana recipe to share. Refreshments provided.
Screening of Knife Skills
Nov. 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Join for a screening of “Knife Skills,” a film by Academy Award winner Thomas Lennon. The film focuses on the launch of Edwin’s, a world-class French restaurant in Cleveland, where most of the staff are just out of prison. A staff member from Edwin’s will be present to explain their mission and answer questions.
Freedom and Patriotism

Vietnam War veteran and retired newspaper editor Dave Lange will discuss freedom, patriotism, and his coming-of-age memoir, “Virginity Lost in Vietnam.”
Healthy Sleep

Presented by Experts from the University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center will discuss the importance of healthy sleep.

WWII and Normandy Invasion
Nov. 16, 1 p.m.
To honor the 75th anniversary of the World War II Normandy Invasion, retired firefighter Peter Booth will re-enact what members of the Fifth Ranger Infantry experienced. He will also show memorabilia that belonged to his parents, who both served in the war.
