Balance Workshop

Sense of balance diminishes as people grow older. A representative from OsteoStrong in Bainbridge will give tips on improving balance and agility.

Yoga for Beginners
Feb. 25, 6:30-8 p.m. 
Each session, a local yoga instructor will teach routines with different poses and their benefits. Please bring your own yoga mat and any props you have or need (blocks, bands, etc.) Waiver required.

Sensory Storytime

Join for a storytime in a supportive environment for children with autism and/or sensory integration challenges.

Books on Tough Topics
Feb. 22, 10:30 a.m.
Parents and caregivers will discuss books on diversity and inclusion that can be used to cover the topics of feelings, emotions and coping skills with children and teens. During the discussion, children can participate in fun activities in a separate space. Only register children; caregivers do not need to register.

Where otaku and noobs alike come to hang out, youth in grades 5-12 will explore Japanese culture, enjoy Anime, showcase cosplay and borrow from the library’s manga collection.

The Community Within

Feb. 29, 2 p.m.  
Ric Sheffield will speak on “Discovering African American History in Rural Ohio.” Many rural areas in Ohio have long-established black communities that are often invisible to the larger white communities in which they reside. The program relates the adventure of reclaiming the lost history of African Americans in Knox County, Ohio, while explaining the benefits of including minority populations within celebrations of heritage and sharing strategies for undertaking such projects in communities of various sizes and racial and ethnic makeups. All ages.
