Families are welcome to join for a round of golf at the Geauga West Library Links, where the entire building is converted into an 18-hole golf course for one special day of fun for the whole family.

Mini Golf at the Library

March 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Families are welcome to join for a round of golf at the Geauga West Library Links, where the entire building is converted into an 18-hole golf course for one special day of fun for the whole family. The annual event is the principal fundraiser for the Geauga County Library Foundation.

In addition to golfing, attendees can enjoy free family entertainment, such as face painting, therapy dogs, balloon artists, a kiddie hole for preschoolers and a special visit from GCPL’s new mascot, Rascal the Raccoon. There will also be tickets available for purchase for both adult and children’s prize auctions.

The cost is $5 per person. Tickets are available for purchase at all GCPL locations.

Soap Making Workshop
March 7, 1 p.m.
Learn the evolution and science of soap while observing the cold process making of handcrafted soap. Learn how Mother Nature’s bounties can be utilized to create plant-based, natural, and eco-friendly soaps.

Office Hours with Rep. Patterson
March 9, 1-2:30 p.m.
Residents can learn about and discuss state legislative issues as well as raise concerns or questions.

Teen Gaming Group
March 9, 4 p.m.
Teens in grades 6-12 will play the library’s Nintendo Switch and old-school board and card games. Snacks.

Still Life Art
March 9, 6-7:30 p.m.
Practice techniques drawing fashion and jewelry. Learn about shapes, composition and shading. Charcoal and paper provided, but feel free to bring your own supplies. All skill levels welcome.

Eat a Rainbow
March 11, 2-2:30 p.m.
Enjoy stories and games as toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years learn how fun it can be to eat colorful foods to grow healthy and strong. Only register children; caregivers do not need to register.

Cut the Cable
March 7, 10 a.m.
Learn how to cancel cable and still get the programs and content one wants through a number of available options.

Trailblazers
March 9 and 16, 6:30 p.m.
Youth in grades K-2 may join for fun stories and activities to build a lifelong love of reading.

Pi Day
March 10, 3:30- 5 p.m.
Teens in grades 6-12 will celebrate Pi Day at the library.

Battle for the Ballot
March 10, 7 p.m.
The program on Cleveland’s suffragette movement will tell the story behind the women who fought for their rights here in Cleveland as members of the League of Women Voters. Presented by the Western Reserve Historical Society.

Intro to Microsoft Excel
March 11, 6:30 p.m.
Those new to Excel will learn basic introductory skills. Participants must have basic keyboard and mouse skills.

Sit and Knit
March 12 and 26, 10-11:30 a.m.
Join other knitters in conversation while knitting a current project. Supplies not included.

Little Artists
March 12, 11 a.m.
Preschoolers ages 3-5 will experience a hands-on art activity and explore their creativity.

Third-Grade Thursdays
March 12, 6 p.m.
Third-graders will reinforce reading skills with fun stories and activities.

Reiki Share
March 12, 6:30 p.m.
Join for Reiki share and improve one’s skills. Facilitated by Reiki master teacher.

Women’s Suffrage During Civil War

Learn how it took more than 100 years for the women of the United States to get the right to vote and how this had its beginning during the time of the Civil War.
