From Seneca Falls to Suffrage

In Northeastern Ohio, suffragists battled at the grassroots level to ensure that the Ohio General Assembly would support women’s right to vote. The presentation interweaves local suffrage “sheroes” and their places of action with the national story of women winning the right to vote.

Rabble-Rousing in the Countryside

Meet at the Newbury Library Station for an overview of the rich, and occasionally revolutionary, 161-year history of the South Newbury Union Chapel. Special emphasis will be given to the Suffragette period. At 2 p.m. the group will adjourn to the Chapel, 15829 State Route 44, weather permitting, to tour the building. Period attire is welcome.
