Dorothy’s Porch, a free community giveaway of clothing for the family, bedding, household items, books, toys, stuffed animals and holiday decorations, will be held at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road in Chardon.

This and That Sale

Sept. 7-9

St. Mark Lutheran Church Women’s League will host its annual This and That garage and estate sale at the church located at 11900 Chillicothe in Chester Township. A presale will be held Thursday from 5-8 p.m. with a $5 admission. The sale continues with free admission on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Auburn Community Arts Festival

Sept. 8-10

The drive-it-yourself festival in Auburn Township offers something for everyone. Enjoy century barn tours and farms, Monarch Festival, wagon rides, photo opportunities with antique and unique vehicles, corn roast, fresh produce and flame working with glass rod demonstrations. Local shops, restaurants and breweries will have events or sales.

Gospel Hymn Sing

Join Geauga Skywatchers Club for “Upcycled Record Solar System Art” at the Geauga West Library in Chester Township. Learn about the planets while painting the solar system on an old record. No experience is needed. All materials will be provided.

Peace Lutheran Church will host a rummage and bake sale at the church located at 12686 Bass Lake Road, Munson Township. Parking is available behind the church at the lower level entrance.

CV Herb Society Meets

Sept. 15, 12:30 p.m.

The Chagrin Valley Herb Society will meet at the Bainbridge Library, 17222 Snyder Road. Lowe’s Greenhouse will present a program on planting and caring for fall bulbs following refreshments and a short business meeting.

Basket Raffle and Bake Sale

A basket raffle and bake sale will be held at Claridon Town Hall, 13930 Mayfield Road. Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve a walleye dinner at the post located at 752 Water St. Open to the public, the event will also feature quickie boards, 50/50 and drink specials. Tickets are required.

Harvest Handmade Market

Chardon Square Association is hosting Harvest Handmade Market in Chardon Square. The free event features over 100 vendors selling handmade, upcycled and vintage merchandise and crafts.

DTJ Clambake

Sept. 17, 1-3 p.m.

DTJ Taborville is holding a clambake at its location in Auburn Township at the intersection of Bartholemew and Quinn roads.

Chardon VFW Rummage Sale

Sept. 22 and 23, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Chardon VFW Post 6519 Auxiliary will hold its annual rummage and bake sale at the post located at 752 Water St. in Chardon. The sale includes housewares, small appliances tools, camping and sports gear, pet supplies gardening equipment, Barbie dolls and accessories.

Donated items may be dropped off starting Sept. 20. Call 440-285-3699 with any questions.

Auburn FD Clambake

The Auburn Fire Department is hosting its annual clambake at the fire station located at 10950 Washington St. in Auburn Township.
