The Chardon VFW Post 6519 Auxiliary will hold its annual rummage and bake sale at the post located at 752 Water St. in Chardon.

Fairmount Fall Registration

Registration is underway for Fairmount Center for the Arts fall session of art, dance, music and theatre programs. Classes and lessons for preschoolers through adults begin the week of Sept. 4 at its Russell Township and Chardon locations. Call 440-338-3171 or visit fairmountcenter.org.

Concert in the Park

Flea Market On The Greens

Aug. 17, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Chesterland Historical Village will host its annual Flea Market On The Greens featuring treasures galore, music and food trucks. Join in a great time of treasure hunting. Admission is $3 for adults and free for children.

The village is located on the corner of Caves and Mayfield roads in Chester Township.

Free Fresh Produce

Aug. 17, 9-11 a.m.

Newbury Community Church hosts a fresh produce giveaway at 14916 Auburn Road. Cleveland FoodBank provides the service to lower income Geauga County residents the third Saturday of each month through October. Please bring ID and bags.

Bainbridge Rox 

Aug. 17, 12-10 p.m.

Bainbridge Civic Club is hosting its annual Bainbridge Rox at Centerville Mills Park, 8558 Crackel Road in Bainbridge Township. Admission and parking are free.

American Legion Chicken Barbecue

Chicken Dinner and Car Show

Aug. 18, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Edward and Lucy Parish will host its 15th annual Chicken Dinner and Car Show, rain or shine, at St. Edward Church, 16150 Center St. in Parkman. Event features classic cars and pickup trucks, Chinese auction, raffles, pie auction, DJ Cory and kids games.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under.

Early bird ticket sales for the Chinese auction and raffles are available Aug. 17 from 3-7 p.m. Drawing will be after 6 p.m. Aug. 18; winner need not be present.

Audubon Bird ID Class

Blackbrook Audubon Society secretary Mary Ann Wagner will present “Backyard Birdwatching for Beginners” at Kirtland Public Library. She will describe resources for learning the names of birds and techniques for attracting feathered visitors. Entertainment in the Park

Thompson Township continues its free summer entertainment series on Thompson Square with In Cahootz. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Well-behaved pets are welcome.

DDC Clinic Benefit Auction

Aug. 23

The 24th annual benefit auction for D.D.C. Clinic – Center for Special Needs Children will be held at the Buster Miller Farm located at the intersection of Newcomb and Nash roads in Middlefield. The auction starts at 2 p.m.; a full lunch stand will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Event includes a live and silent auction, basket raffles, baked goods, train rides and other activities for children.

Bid on quilts, furniture, tools, farm supplies, buggies and more, including a 32×48-foot building to be built on-site, custom kitchen cabinets and a 16×24-foot timber frame pavilion.

This And That Garage Sale

St. Mark Lutheran Church Women’s League will host its annual This and That garage sale at the church located at 11900 Chillicothe in Chester Township. The sale runs Thursday from 6-9 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds support its monthly community lunch and mission grants.

Fall Fish Sale

Sept. 12, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District is taking orders for its annual fall fish sale that will be held on the midway at the Geauga County Fairgrounds. Pond safety kits are also available.
