Hours are Friday, 5-10:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ohio Open Doors

Middlefield Historical Society hosts an open house in conjunction with this state-wide event. Tour the 1818 Century Inn, Middlefield’s oldest known standing structure and learn its history and significance to the community. Ride for Resilience
Sept. 15, 1 p.m.
Registration is open for an e-bike rally along the Geauga Park Maple Highland Trail. Registration is from noon to 1 p.m. at 102 Cherry Ave., Chardon, where the 25-mile ride begins and ends. Proceeds support the nonprofit Kyle Strong, which raises funds for mental health counseling, support and suicide prevention.
Get Septic Smart
Sept. 17, 6-7:30 p.m.
Join the Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District and Geauga Public Health for a free Septic Smart program at the Geauga County Public Library Administrative Center, 12701 Ravenwood Drive, Chardon.
Resource professionals with Geauga Public Health will discuss how a home septic system works, how to maintain a home’s sewage treatment system and what to do when it appears to not be working properly.

Young of Heart

Geauga Young of Heart will meet at St. Anselm Church in Chester Township. Bring a brown bag lunch. Snacks and beverages are provided. Speaker Catie Clager will reveal what life was like during the Victorian era.

Last Fly-In of Summer
Sept. 21, 7-11 a.m.
The Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 5 will host its last fly-in of the summer at the Geauga County Airport, 15421 Old State Road in Middlefield. First-time flyers ages 8 to 17 can register in advance with parental permission for a free Young Eagle Airplane at YoungEaglesDay.org. The event also features a pancake breakfast, youth stations, displays and demonstrations.

Honey Bee Festival

The fifth annual festival at John’s Country Nursery in Middlefield features over 80 vendors selling locally grown or crafted goods. Enjoy music, mini-education seminars, food and day-long family fun devoted to increasing public awareness of the impact that bees have on food sources and the wide range of benefits of bee products. Fun with Food and Fermentation

Join Master Gardener Volunteers Dick Coin and Mirko Antloga to learn how to make sauerkraut, kimchi, soda pop, hard cider, kombucha, beer and wine from scratch using one’s own equipment and supplies or from do-it-yourself kits.
