Food Pantry Open

Sept. 27, 10 a.m. to noon

The food pantry at the Chester Christian Center church is open to anyone in the community in need of food. One does not need to be a member of the church to attend.

The church is located at 11815 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.

Spaghetti Dinner

Sept. 27, 5-7:30 p.m. 

Geauga County Women’s Republican Club is hosting its annual all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs dinner at Munson Town Hall, 12200 Auburn Road. Call Joanie Windnagel at 440-339-6894 for more information.

Free Community Dinner

Sept. 27, 5-6:30 p.m.

Mayfield United Methodist Church is hosting dinner at the church located at 7747 Mayfield Road in Chester Township. Carryout is available.

VFW Walleye Dinner

Sept. 27, 5:30-7 p.m.

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve a walleye dinner at the post located at 752 Water St. Open to the public, the event will also feature quickie boards, 50/50 and drink specials. Tickets are required.

Burton Antiques Market

Sept. 28, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The 63rd annual Burton Antiques Market will be held rain or shine at the Geauga County Fairgrounds in Burton. There will be more than 400 dealers. Early bird admission is $25 from 8-10 a.m. followed by general admission at 10 a.m.

Geauga Dems Steak Roast

Chris Gibbs, chair of the Shelby County, Ohio, Democratic Party, will be the featured speaker at the Geauga County Democratic Party’s annual steak roast at Veteran’s Legacy Woods in Newbury Township. Pet Blessing & Care Fair

Celebration Lutheran Church will host a pet blessing and care fair for companion animals and service animals in the parking lot of the church located at 10621 Auburn Road, Chardon. The fair will be held indoors if the weather is inclement. Attendees will also receive a goodie bag.

Annual Fall Budget Bin

Solon PTA’s 60th annual Budget Bin consignment sale at Parkside Elementary Gym, 6848 SOM Center Road in Solon, offers area shoppers a wide array of bargains on everything from clothing and toys to household goods and books. All proceeds benefit the Lois Gazeley Scholarship Fund for graduating Solon High School seniors.

Donations days are Oct. 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Oct. 13, 12-4 p.m. Preview sale day is Oct. 14, 4-7 p.m. For $15 per bag, shoppers get an early start on deals before the sale begins. Consignment days are Oct. 15, 3-7 p.m.; and Oct. 16, 3-8 p.m. Community sale days are Oct. 17, 3-8 p.m.; and Oct. 18 and 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Last chance bag day is Oct. 20, 12-2 p.m. All bags are $10 each.

Trunk or Treat

Oct. 23, 5:30 p.m.

Geauga County Sherriff’s Office will host its annual Trunk or Treat at 12450 Merritt Road, Chardon. The event is free.

To ensure every child leaves with a full bag of treats, candy donations for the event may be dropped off in the lobby during normal business hours.
