Kindness Sewing Circle

Aug. 1, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

NPower Services hosts a Kindness Sewing Circle at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road in Chardon. The free monthly gathering is open to people of all abilities and provides a creative space for participants to craft fabric projects that benefit others in need.

Young of Heart

Aug. 1, 11:30 a.m.

Geauga Young of Heart will meet at St. Anselm Church in Chester Township. Bring a brown bag lunch. Refreshments will be provided. Musical entertainment will be provided by Greg Piscura.

The group will see a movie at Atlas Movie Theater in Aurora at 11 a.m. Aug. 7.

A trip has been planned to Mt. Vernon, Ohio, for Aug. 20. Call Kimber at 440-668-3293 for space availability.

Care Center Benefit Auction

Aug. 1, 4:30 p.m.

The annual benefit auction for the Middlefield Care Center nonprofit Amish birthing center will be held at Heritage Marketplace, 15848 Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. The event includes live and silent auctions, raffle tickets, bake sale, food stand and a quilt auction at 7 p.m. Donations are needed and appreciated.

Concert in the Park

Aug. 1, 7-9 p.m.

City of Chardon hosts its free summer concert series featuring Big North Band at the gazebo on Chardon Square. Visit www.chardon.cc for information.

Pymatuning Lake Festival

Aug. 2 and 3

Bring the family to the 41st Pymatuning Lake Festival at Pymatuning State Park Main Beach in Andover. Hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to dark and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Enjoy inflatables, a craft show, live entertainment, kids activities, boat rides, ice rink and food concessions. Fireworks are on Saturday at dusk.

Basket Raffle

Girl Scout Troop 70602 is hosting a basket raffle at Claridon Town Hall. The drawing is at 4:30 p.m. Proceeds will support a community service project and a science museum trip.

CSA Arts Festival

Aug. 3, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Chardon Square Association is sponsoring the 44th annual Arts Festival on historic Chardon Square. The outdoor show features more than 100 juried artists. Admission and parking are free. For more information, visit www.chardonsquareassociation.org.

Newbury United Community Church is hosting a rummage sale at the church located at 14916 Auburn Road in Newbury Township. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Maplewood Summer Concert Series
