Sept. 25, 6:30 p.m.

Geauga County Beekeepers Association will meet at the Munson Community Center, 12210 Auburn Road, to discuss how to prepare hives for winter. The meeting is open to members and nonmembers.

Chardon VFW Rummage Sale

Sept. 26 and 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Chardon VFW Post 6519 Auxiliary will hold its annual rummage sale, bake sale and 50/50 raffle at the post located at 752 Water St. in Chardon.

Saturdays In the Country

Chili Cook-off and Chinese Auction

Peace Lutheran Church will host a chili cook-off and Chinese auction at the church located at 12686 Bass Lake Road, Munson Township. Parking is available behind the church at the lower entrance.

SND Barbecue & Boutique

Sept. 28, 12-5 p.m.

Fortify Geauga

Kindness Sewing Circle

NPower Services hosts a Kindness Sewing Circle at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road in Chardon. The free monthly gathering is open to people of all abilities and provides a creative space for participants to craft fabric projects that benefit others in need.

Pumpkin Festival

Huntsburg Township hosts its 55th annual Pumpkin Festival at the intersection of state routes 322 and 528. The festival features a car show, pumpkin run, carved and decorated pumpkin show, pumpkin pie eating contest and pumpkin queen and junior queen and tot king and queen contests.

Enjoy free admission and parking as well as free shuttle service from the parking areas to the festival grounds.

Burton Library Art Show

GCRTA Luncheon

The Geauga County Retired Teachers Association will meet at Grand River Cellars Winery, 5750 Madison Road in Madison. Social time will be followed by the business meeting at 11:30 a.m. and a chicken parmesan lunch at noon.

Kevin Magee, a diver and mechanical/aeronautical engineer, will share his experiences and expertise on exploring and diving for Lake Erie shipwrecks.

Chester Cemetery Tours

Chester Grave Hunters will host Lanterns & Legacies, an immersive, lantern-lit cemetery tour experience featuring character portrayals, historical interpretation and twilight ambiance at Quirk Cemetery, 12703 Woodside Drive in Chester Township. Township resident and historical interpreter Diana Kresnye will lead the tours Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

GOP Golf Outing

Oct. 13

The Geauga County Republican Party will hold its annual golf outing at Fowlers Mill Golf Course in Chester Township. Registration starts at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and steak dinner at 3 p.m. Event also includes hot dog lunch at the turn, drink tickets and games with prizes.

Golf packages are $165 per person and dinner only is $65 per person. Sponsorships are available. RSVPs are due by Sept. 30.

Fall Fish Sale

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District is taking orders for its annual fall fish sale that will be held on the midway at the Geauga County Fairgrounds. Pond safety kits are also available.

Chardon Rotary Harvest Auction

Chardon Rotary’s 33rd annual Harvest Auction will be held at Guido’s Generations Event Center, 12809 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township. The event includes open bar, dinner and silent, Chinese and live auctions.
