Know Your Scat

Nov. 3

Enjoy a fun animal tracking technique celebrated with back-to-back programs at the West Woods Nature Center.

First, from 2-2:45 p.m., will test participants with how well they can identify scat.

Then, learn how to make an authentic-looking replica of scat out of baking clay and other materials in Scat-making 101 from 3-4 p.m.

Registration is not required for the earlier, informational program, but is for Scat-making 101.

Veterans Legacy Woods Reception

Nov. 9, 9-11 a.m.

Armed Forces veterans and their families will enjoy the splendor of autumn at Veterans Legacy Woods, 14085 Ravenna Road in Newbury Township.

Activities will include a naturalist-led hike, EZ Go Cart tours, refreshments and engaging activities such as cornhole, chess, checkers and jenga.

Activities will take place inside the banquet facility and outdoors, so please dress for the weather and call ahead with questions.

These Are Holly Days

Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Browse a premier selection of nature-themed holiday decor and gifts for sale by nearly 40 regional artisans at Holly Days Artisan Boutique & Mistletoe Market at The West Woods Nature Center in Russell Township.

The Mistletoe Market will also have handmade gifts created by 10 youth artisans ages 18 and under selling items that they themselves have made.

Guests will be treated to live dulcimer and guitar music as they shop. All are welcome free of charge.
