Bird Watching With The Pros
Join park district naturalists for guided opportunities to observe the diversity of migratory birds stopping in Geauga County’s preserved natural areas.
Naturalist Trevor will lead a Hawk Watch on Oct. 16, from 3-6 p.m. at Veterans Legacy Woods’ Tribute Lodge. Participants will enjoy a stationary birding experience from the deck overlooking the western branch of the Cuyahoga River valley, watching for migrating raptors. Registration is required and bring binoculars.
A more active outing follows with Chief Naturalist John Kolar during a Waterfowl Watch on Nov. 22, from 2-4 p.m. at LaDue Reservoir. Meet at the boathouse lot to look for migratory ducks, loons, grebes, swans and bald eagles. Limited van seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; others are welcome to caravan in their own vehicles.
