The Board of Supervisors of the Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District will celebrate their 72nd anniversary in conservation while also voting for the next board supervisors.

The annual dinner celebration takes place Nov. 3 at the Geauga County Fairgrounds School Building, 14373 N. Cheshire Road, in Burton. Dinner is served promptly at 7 p.m.

Registration and the election of two board officers will be from 6-7 p.m. only. This year’s candidates are Mike Henry, Jeffrey Huntsberger and Kristina Port.

All voters must be at least 18 years of age the night of the election who reside or own land within Geauga County may vote even if they are not able to attend the meeting.

Anyone wishing to vote who cannot attend the meeting may do so by making a request for an absentee voting ballot. Ballot request forms can be obtained at the Geauga SWCD Office, on the website www.geaugaswcd.com or by calling 440-834-1122.

In addition to the election and dinner, the evening will feature conservation awards, raffle items and a presentation titled “The Future of Water” presented by Tangent Company.

The cost is $10 per person and the deadline for reservations is Oct 20.
