Spring Trash Day April 25
Spring Trash Day will be held this Saturday at the township park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please remember, actual trash and yard waste will not be accepted.
Old appliances, building materials, televisions, lawn equipment and miscellaneous items will be accepted.
Habitat for Humanity will once again have a truck present for donations of clean household items in good repair, furniture that has no stains or tears, building materials, light fixtures, bath or kitchen fixtures and miscellaneous items.
Chemicals or paint are not accepted.
The township has received a tire grant again this year and will once again recycle tires. There is a limit of eight tires per household. Car or light truck tires only; no commercial truck or tractor tires. All tires must be removed from the rims.
Trash day is for Hambden residents only. Residents may be asked for I.D.
For more info, call Lauri or Mary Ann at the township hall at 440-286-4364.
Computer Recycling Discontinued
Hambden Township is no longer going to be able to have computer recycling at the township park. The container should have been removed by now.
The township regrets having to do this, but people continued to put televisions in the container, as well as vacuum cleaners and other non-computer items. Unfortunately, Hambden has no way to recycle these items either.
Residents may bring their electronics to trash day on April 25, but please do not drop them off at the park.
Hambden Highlights
The spring edition of the township newsletter should have arrived last week. If anyone did not receive one, please call the township hall at 440-286-4364 to have one sent out and to be put on the mailing list for next time.
Firehouse Rib Dinner
Hambden firefighters are once again cooking for moms on Mother’s Day. They are preparing a take home rib dinner, so mom can relax and enjoy her special day.
Dinner includes St. Louis pork spare ribs, potato wedges, beans, slaw and a drink. A full slab dinner is $20 and a half slab dinner, $16.
Stop by and pick it up between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Delivery is available for safety forces.
Call to order by May 4 at 440-285-3329 or purchase tickets from any Hambden firefighter.
