For a limited time, the American Red Cross is testing all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies, providing donors insight into whether they have been exposed to this coronavirus. There continues to be an urgent need for blood donations as hospitals resume surgeries and treatments that require blood products.

Donation appointments can be made by downloading the free Blood Donor App, visitingRedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-733-2767.

Help for Mental Illness

Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness.

A Family and Friends seminar geared towards those who have a friend or family member with a mental health condition will be held at 7 p.m. July 16. The class location will be determined based on registration.

Family-to-Family is a free program for family members and friends of people who live with a mental health condition. The program runs Mondays, July 20 to Sept. 14 from 6-8:30 p.m., at the NAMI Geauga office located at 8389 Mayfield Road, Suite A-2 in Chester Township.
