The American Red Cross has an emergency shortage of convalescent plasma and encourages donations to keep a robust blood supply as the coronavirus pandemic continues. Those who donate through Sept. 3 will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card.

Donation appointments can be made by downloading the free Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-733-2767.

Aug. 4, Church of Saint Mary, 401 North St., Chardon, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Aug. 6, Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., Chardon, 1-7 p.m.

Aug. 13, Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge Township, 1-7 p.m.

In-Person Group Therapy Resumes

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers announces a return to in-person group therapy, which was temporarily suspended at all outpatient offices. While all outpatient services have returned to in-person visits, telehealth will continue to be offered.

Residential treatment services and recovery houses have continued to operate for those seeking admission to this level of care. LGRC is accepting new clients and has immediate openings available in its residential treatment programs.

LGRC Ride For Recovery

Aug. 30

Register for Lake-Geauga Recovery Center’s fourth annual Ride for Recovery. The ride starts and ends at Bike Ohio, 8576 E. Washington St., Chagrin Falls. Registration begins at 7 a.m.

Ride is $30 per person. Children must be 12 or older to ride. Children under 18 must have signed parental consent. Riders must wear helmets.
