Family First Council

Help For Mental Illness

Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness. Programs meet at the NAMI Geauga office located at 8389 Mayfield Road, Suite A-2 in Chester Township.

A free speaker event will be held at  6 p.m. March 24. In “Bipolar Disorder: Both Sides of the Story,” Mark and Kristen will speak candidly about living with and loving someone who lives with bipolar disorder.

Family-to-Family is a free educational program for family, significant others and friends of people living with mental illness. The program runs Mondays, March 16 to May 4 from 6-8:30 p.m.

Peer-to-Peer is a free educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. Class meets Wednesdays, March 25 to May 13 from 1-3 p.m.
