Hello from Geauga County Amish Country,
It was a beautiful morning on Feb. 24.
It was a beautiful morning on Feb. 24. It was a nice day to dry laundry outside, which made for very happy housewives.
I have bluebirds that are flying on my windowsill. It can be quite annoying, but I love their beautiful colors.
My sympathy goes out to the Albert A. Miller family as they part with their special son Rudy. His funeral was Feb. 24. He was 28 years old.
The preemie baby of Joe and Sara Bricker is doing well. He was born Feb. 10 and weighed 3 pounds, 4 ounces at birth. He is now up to 4 pounds, 12 ounces. Sara is also doing well since they have her blood pressure under control.
Daughter-in-law Joe Saloma was scheduled for an appointment to get the results of her MRI to see if she will have to have surgery on her knee.
On Feb. 21 and 22, Enos and Laura Hershberger took sister Fannie Yoder to visit sister Liz Yoder in Mio, Mich. Fannie is 90 years old. Also going along were Edward and Edna Bender, Laura Bontrager and Elva Yoder. They also got to visit Fannie’s other two sisters.
There were intervals of sun and rain on March 2, which made it a day of should I or should I not hang out laundry.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Noah Hershberger family in the passing of their mother Viola who was buried on Feb. 28. Also, our thoughts and prayers are with the John Detweiler family while he is in Cleveland Hospital following heart surgery.
Our church families were invited the evening of March 1 to son Wayne and Judy’s. We each took snacks and after having snacks, we also had cake and ice cream for grandson Kenny’s 21st birthday. After eating, we played games, men against ladies. The men won all but one game. Some were to their advantage, but I won’t go into details. All in all, we had a great time. Thanks, Wayne and family.
Some of us neighbor ladies planned to visit daughter-in-law Joe Saloma awhile this forenoon to see how she’s coming along with her bum knee. Hopefully she is having less pain. Her mom, John Matt, spent Feb. 27-29 with her, helping along and playing marble games.
There is still some flu going around. We had a few missing in church. Think spring and maybe the flu bug will leave.
Greenhouses are beginning to start up, so that means spring is right around the corner.
The next Bloodmobile at Joe’s Window Shop is March 14 from 2-8 p.m.

A Boy Scout wanted to earn a merit badge, so he started to help old ladies cross the street. The first day, it took him five hours to help old ladies across the street. Two of them didn’t want to go.
Doctor: “So, how are your broken ribs coming along?”
Patient: “”Well, I keep getting this stitch in my side.”
Doctor: “Good. That shows the bones are knitting.”
Thought for the Day
We must learn to help those who deserve it, not just those who need it. Life responds to deserve, not need.
You all have a good week.
