Hutter Performance Center Open House June 29

Hutter Performance Center will hold its annual open house on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be tours of the engine shop and chassis dyno demonstrations. Cruise-ins are welcome. Free hot dogs and soft drinks will be available.

Come in and see what the noise is all about. It is located at 12550 GAR Highway, across from King Kone.

Zoning Commission Vacancy

There is an opening as an alternate on the Hambden Township Zoning Commission. If a resident is interested, please contact the township office at 440-286-4364. Lauri or MaryAnn will provide the details.

Hambden Community Picnic

The picnic committee will be meeting again on July 3 at 5:30 p.m. There will be two quilts to auction at this year’s picnic. Both have been made by fiscal officer Laura Chorman. The traditional quilt will be one that everyone can buy chances to win.

The other quilt is very special. It is a quilt made to honor Hambden veterans. Any Hambden veteran or active service man or woman from Hambden is invited to put his or her name in the free drawing. Both quilts are absolutely beautiful.

The picnic is Aug. 11 from 1-5 p.m. at the township park. There will be entertainment from Banjo the Clown and a band will be playing in the bandstand. There will also be a Chinese auction, children’s games, a bakery walk, ice cream sundaes and prizes for children of all ages. The fire department will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs and there will be free popcorn and snow cones.

To donate an item for the Chinese auction, call Nadine at 440-286-3273 or drop it off at the township hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

Thanks in advance for everyone’s assistance in making this a great picnic.
