Fortunate to Have Radtke
I am responding to a previous letter to the editor written by someone who rarely attends trustee meetings. He portrayed Trustee Ken Radtke in an unfavorable manner. I strongly disagree with his comments.
My attendance at trustee meetings began in 2005 and I have been at almost every meeting since Radtke took office. Trustee Radtke asks questions and tries to initiate discussions on significant matters with the other trustees. Trustees Judy Caputo and Mike Joyce frequently refuse to discuss anything during the public meetings.
While Trustee Radtke was absent, Trustees Caputo and Joyce modified the administrative secretary’s job descr-iption to benefit themselves, even though they are all equal in their capacity as trustees.
Trustee Radtke consistently focuses on township issues and the concerns and well-being of all the residents. His manner has been consistently professional. He conducts himself with integrity and shows respect to residents and all the other elected officials.
Doesn’t Chester Township deserve an open and transparent government? It appears that Trustees Caputo and Joyce don’t have what it takes to be good public servants. Chester Township is a wonderful community, we deserve better.

How Much Is Your Vote Worth
The silly season is upon us once again and the politicians are out in full force preparing for the November election.
Just how much will your vote cost this year? Here in Auburn Township it could be as little as a hot dog at a local Fourth of July parade.
Quid pro quo is Latin for an exchange of goods or services, where one transfer is contingent upon the other. Vote for me and by the way let me pay for your hot dog.
Today the question is more important than ever because just one vote can make a huge difference. Will your vote be freely given or will it be bought?
The next time a politician offers you anything, ask what is expected in return. Too often, we accept a gift and the quid pro quo is not stated but is implied by our acceptance. How much is your vote worth?
