Congratulations
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin sophomore Madeline Spicer, junior Danya MacDonald and senior Cara Pannell were selected for the Summer Internship Program at the Cleveland Clinic. The annual competition is highly competitive and gives the winners an opportunity to work with and learn from nationally renowned health care professionals in a number of medical fields.

At The Rookery
Weather permitting, the Geauga Park District will hold an off-trail hike April 26, from 1-4 p.m., at the Rookery in Munson. The hike, led by a park ranger, will go into rock ledges and protected preserves. Children must be accompanied by adults.

At the Senior Center
The Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, invites seniors who have April birthdays to a celebration on April 27 from 12-12:45 p.m. Amanda from Brooks House will entertain with fun and games.
Also, at the Chardon Senior Center, Frank Cardone, the one-man band, will entertain at 12:45 p.m. April 28.

Celebrate Recovery
Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Munson, invites those seeking to overcome an addiction to its next meeting of a 12-step Christian addictions recovery program April 29 at 7 p.m. The program offers help, encouragement and fellowship. A free meal is offered at 6:15 p.m. The weekly meetings are free; preregistration is not required.

Save the Date
Munson Township’s annual Fishing Derby will be held May 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Scenic River Retreat, 10900 Mayfield Road, Munson. It is a free event for Munson Township residents.
Bring fishing poles; bait will be provided. Catch and release only. Prizes will be awarded.

Free Sunday Dinner
St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson, will host its next free Sunday dinner May 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Fellowship room. There will be salads, soups, breads, desserts and more.
Donations are not necessary, but will be appreciated. To help prepare or serve the dinner, or for more information, call 440-286-4641.
Shutterbugs Camera Club
The Shutterbugs Camera Club will meet at 7 p.m. May 7 in the Bostwick room of the Chardon Library on Chardon Square. The monthly meetings are free and open to all ages and levels of the art of photography.
Photographic techniques will be explored and friendly critiques are offered to those who wish to bring their work to the meeting. Preregistration is not required. For more information, call 440-285-7601.
Nature Writing Contest
The Geauga Park District has extended the deadline for the 20th annual Nature Writing Contest to May 11. The contest is open to preteens, teens and adults for original nature inspired poetry and prose. There will be awards in each category. For more information and applications, call 440-286-9516.
