At the Senior Center
The Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, is accepting reservations no later than June 29 for the July 9 bus trip to the Lake County Captains baseball game against West Michigan. The Geauga Renaissance Choir will sing our national anthem. Cost is $20 per person, which includes transportation, event ticket and food voucher. For information and reservations, call 440-279-2131.
Sausage & Kraut Dinner
Peace Lutheran Church, 12686 Bass Lake Road, Munson, is offering a sausage and kraut dinner for adults and hot dogs and macaroni and cheese for children on June 20 from 4-8 p.m.
Cost for adults is $10 and $4 for children. Tickets are presale only by June 13; call 440-362-0210.
At Bass Lake Preserve
The Geauga Park District will have an afternoon of “Paddle Ohio,” on June 21 at 1 p.m., at Bass Lake Preserve, ll445 Lakeview Drive, Munson. For information and required reservations, visit www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or call 440-286-9516.
Partners Meeting
Geauga Growth Partnership Inc. will hold its 2015 annual partners meeting June 24 from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at the Notre Dame Educational Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson. The event is open to the business community of Geauga County. There will be a complimentary breakfast.
Guest speaker is Kimm Lininger, executive director of United Way Services of Geauga County. Keynote speaker is Ivan Schwartz, president of Cleveland Film Commission.

Historic Tidbit
Sunday, June 14 is Flag Day, on which we honor the United States of America flag. Flag Day was first designated for observance on June 14, 1895, honoring the date in 1777 when it was declared the official flag of our country.
June 14 also honors the founding of the U.S. Army in 1775, which began as a group of riflemen protecting the Colonies.
