January is Board of Education recognition Month. Newbury Schools Super-intendent Michelle Mrakovich presented board of education members with certificates at their Jan. 12 board meeting.
School board members not only hold meetings monthly, sometimes five to six per month, but also volunteer as coaches, respond to media questions, paint hallways, reframe pictures, attend community open houses and represent the community and board in meetings with other districts.
Current board members are involved with coaching, joint recreation board and the Black Knight Parents.
