Protect Geauga Parks recently awarded the Bob McCullough Memorial Conservation Scholarship to graduating seniors Grayson Yoder of Cardinal High School and Christian Schneider of Chardon High School.

The scholarship recognizes students who plan to pursue careers related to conservation, preservation and protection of nature.

Yoder plans to pursue a career in a biology-related field that will contribute to a higher biological understanding of the environment, while Schneider plans to integrate his interest in finance with his concern for conservation and sustainability by becoming an environmental economist, an environmental finance professional or an impact investor.

In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, each student received a $1,776 scholarship.

Scholarship supporters also had the opportunity to meet the recipients and their families following the presentation.
