OMEA Jr. High Honors Choir
The following seventh-, eighth- and ninth-grade students have been selected from Newbury Local Schools to participate in this year’s OMEA District VII Junior High Honors Choir: Greg Bullis, Niamh Field, Winter Harley, Jacob Miller, Elsa Morton, Kat Nichols, Owen Otto, Anita Sarkisian and Nicole Sigan. They are a select few that have been chosen to participate along with others from surrounding Cleveland schools this year.
The Junior High Honors Choir is a rigorous two-day event held Jan. 15 and 16. Students arrive at Solon Middle School on Friday afternoon, spending the day rehearsing with Shaker Heights High School Director Mario Clopton. Students then return Saturday for a dress rehearsal of the previous day’s repertoire and a final concert at 3:30 p.m.
The concert will be held at Solon High School Auditorium at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 16. The concert is free and open to the public.
