Chardon UMC Celebrates Bicentennial
Oct. 20 and 21
The Chardon United Methodist Church will celebrate its 200th bicentennial anniversary on Chardon Square. Saturday’s activities will take place in and around the Heritage House, including live entertainment by the men’s southern gospel quartet 10 or 4. Historic photos and displays of the church’s ministries and missions will also be on exhibit. A booklet of the church history will be available. Seasonal refreshments will be served.
The church will accept donations for its local mission, Bunches O’ Boots. Purchase new winter boots in various sizes for children in Geauga County; donations may be dropped off at the Heritage House.
In addition to the festivities on the square, the church will be open for guided tours from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday. There will be historical displays and refreshments available.
The celebration continues on Sunday. A luncheon and church history program will follow the 10 a.m. worship service. Reservations are suggested and can be made on the church website.
