Flat Rock Homes
Rev. Nancy Hull will be the guest preacher at Chardon United Methodist Church on Aug. 24, where she will share the ministry of Flat Rock Homes, Inc., a residential school and care community for disabled youth and adults located just south of Bellevue, Ohio. It is a United Methodist-related community.
Rev. Hull, the CEO and an ordained minister, will preach at both the 8:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. services. At 11 a.m., some of the residents from Flat Rock will sing before a community meal, which will be provided for the guests and the community.
The public is invited to learn about special needs children and adults and how the church can provide support and care for them and their families.

Financial Peace University
Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University will be offered at Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., starting Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. The nine-week course provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success. The course meets once a week with a different lesson taught by Ramsey on DVD followed by a small-group discussion.

New Reverend Installed
The installation of Rev. Lucille Abernathy at Auburn Community Church, United Church of Christ took place on July 13. The public is welcome to attend services at 10 a.m. every Sunday.
Community Day of Prayer
Everyone is invited to a Community Day of Prayer for our nation on Aug. 23, rain or shine, from 11 a.m. to noon at the gazebo on Chardon Square.
The one-hour presentation is hosted by Mike Farrell and Concerned Citizens of Our Community.
All are welcome to come pray for the nation and its leadership, military and religious freedom. Bring an American flag and chair.
