Senior Trash Pick-Up Days

The first three April senior trash pick-up days dates have been postponed, which include Munson Township, South Russell Village and Hambden Township.

New pickup dates have not yet been determined for these three areas. The Geauga County Department on Aging will publicize once the new pickup dates are scheduled.

If there are any changes to specific guidelines of the postponed trash pickups, they will be published.

Seniors can register for all the pick-ups by calling the Geauga Department on Aging at 440-279-2130 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Help Geauga County Seniors

The Geauga County Department on Aging is collecting shelf stable/ non-perishable items that it can distribute to homebound seniors in need.

Grocery items needed include: bread, peanut butter/jelly, oatmeal, box cereal, box pasta, pasta sauce,
canned soup/meal, crackers,
canned tuna/chicken, Hamburger/Tuna Helper, rice/ noodles packet/meal, canned/plastic bottle juice, granola bars and drink mixes.

To donate, please place items in the drop-off box in the lobby at the Department on Aging, 470 Center St., Building 2 in Chardon, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP Chapter 4527 has canceled all meetings until further notice due to the corona virus pandemic.

The group is still collecting staples and toiletry items for the Food For Friends food pantry. They may be dropped off at the food pantry located at the Bainbridge Town Hall on the side of the building behind the fire station.

Donations of dog food, treats and paper products for the Geauga Dog Shelter are needed as well. Drop them off in the tub outside the building or at the Triplett residence, 8498 Tulip Lane, and they will deliver them to the shelter.
