The department on aging will offer this service by appointment only, from Feb. 3 through April 10. Tax assistance will be available from Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) trained and certified personnel. Tax preparers will be using the electronic E-filing method this year.

The volunteers who help prepare taxes will need two forms of identification from each taxpayer who is receiving tax assistance. The second identification form can be an original or a copy of your Social Security card, ITIN card or letter, if applicable.
