Low Vision Support Group: March 12, 10 a.m. Joel G. Proskovec, LISW-S of the Cleveland Sight Center, facilitates the monthly group that is open anyone who has or loves someone with vision problems caused by macular degeneration, glaucoma or other conditions.

  • Tornado Safety Presentation: March 20, 11 a.m. Presented by Geauga Department on Emergency Services.

  • UHHS Health Talk: March 21, 10:30 a.m. UH Geauga’s Dr. Silver will speak on hip and knee pain in seniors as well as treatments. The therapy department will also provide exercise tips to ease those aches and pains.

  • Book Club: March 12, 1 p.m. Meet offsite to discuss ”Lilac Girls” by Martha Hall Kelly. Call for additional information.
  • Single Sociable Seniors Club: March 20, 11:30 a.m. Join the SSSC for lunch at Cal’s Restaurant in Garrettsville and then for some bowling next door at Skylane. Cost of lunch is on your own. Bowling is at 1 p.m. Bring $6 cash for two games and shoe rental. Call to RSVP by March 14.
  • Bed Bugs and Home Safety: March 22, 11 a.m. Home Safety Chore & Home Safety coordinator Bob Debevits and Lucas Pest Control will talk about home safety and how to stop the growing epidemic of bed bugs.

Senior Services Available

Join for a free presentation of general services available to Geauga seniors through the Geauga County Department on Aging. The GDA presentation will take place at the Bainbridge Public Library, 17222 Snyder Road.

The Memory Cafe

March 20, 11 a.m. to noon

The Memory Café is a group of local professionals with a shared mission to provide education and recreation for those touched by dementia.

Spend time with recreational therapist Vicki Krueger and experience games and activities one can enjoy at home to enhance the quality of life for those with dementia and their loved ones. The café will be held at the Geauga West Library, 13455 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.

Geauga Senior Spring Fling

March 27, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Geauga County Department on Aging will be kick off spring with a hamburger and hot dog style cookout lunch and music by Singin Sam Frosh Jr. The event will be held at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive.

Cost is $15 per person. Call 440-279-2130 to register by March 19.
