Senior citizens who live in one of the townships or villages listed below and have unwanted items that need to be picked up at their homes may sign up for trash pick-up days.

- Cuisine & Culture: April 19, 9:30 a.m. French Heritage event includes a one-hour highlights tour of the Cleveland Museum of Art and then lunch at L’Albatros. Cost is $45.
- Lunch & Learn: April 25, noon. Kindred Hospice will present “All About Hospice.”
- AARP Safe Driving Class: April 27, 10 a.m. Call for information.

- Chair Exercises: Monday through Friday, 9:15 a.m. Class is approximately 45 minutes and combines stretching, cardio and resistance bands.
- Loneliness & Being Alone: April 25 at 10:30 a.m. Marilyn Brennan will discuss the difference between being alone and being lonely. Learn the benefits of socialization and relationships.

- Lunch and Learn – Umbrella of Dementia Toolbox: April 24, 11 a.m. Not all dementias are the same. Learn background information regarding the different forms of dementia and how each dementia affects the brain, along with caregiving tips for the challenging behaviors that may occur.
- Look, Lunch & Listen: April 25, noon. Meet at Geauga West Library to enjoy a unique and entertaining program each week. Bring lunch.
- Geauga Parks: April 26, 9 a.m. Geauga Park District presents “All Aboard the Wildflower Wagon” at Swine Creek. The senior programs are now branded as “ElderBerries: Seniors Ripe for Adventure.” Call to RSVP by April 20.

Senior Trash Pick-Up Days
Senior citizens who live in one of the townships or villages listed below and have unwanted items that need to be picked up at their homes may sign up for trash pick-up days.
Register with the Geauga County Department on Aging (GDA) by the cut-off day or earlier. Once registered, seniors can be placed on the trash pick-up roster. To receive trash pickup assistance, one must be 60 years of age or older and live in the village, township or city holding the pickup.
Bainbridge Township: April 30, May 1 and 2. Registration cutoff is April 23.
Burton Village: May 7 and 8. Registration cutoff is May 1.
Montville Township: May 9 and 10, Registration cutoff is May 2.
Thompson Township: May 11. Registration cutoff is May 4.
The GDA can no longer go into senior’s homes to pick up unwanted items. Refuse will be picked up from senior’s garages, out buildings and drives.Only 10 household items per home; small items can be consolidated in strong boxes.
For specific allowable trash guidelines or to register for the pickup, call the Department on Aging weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 440- 279-2129 or 440-279-2130. When signing up for pickup, please have a list of items that need to be removed.
Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP
May 1, 1 p.m.
The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP Chapter 4527 will meet at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge Township, for its annual spaghetti lunch catered by Café Michael’s. Reservations are required by April 24. Call Betty Scholz at 440-338-8321 for reservations.
After lunch, there will be a brief meeting to go over upcoming programs.
Non-perishablefood and staples will be collected for the Food for Friends food pantry as well as dog food, blankets, towels, hot dogs and treats for the Geauga Dog Shelter. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
