The AARP safe driving course will be offered at the West Geauga Senior Center.

  • Free Vein Screenings: July 10, 10 a.m. to noon. Smith Vein Institute will present and provide free screenings. Call for an appointment.

  • Explore the Flats: July 11, 10:30 a.m. Travel on a limo bus to the Flats, have lunch, take the water taxi from one bank to the other and see the sights. Senior discounted fee for bus. Call center for more information.

AARP Safe Driving Course

July 12, 11:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The AARP safe driving course will be offered at the West Geauga Senior Center.

The cost for AARP members is $15 and $20 for nonmembers. Bring a bagged lunch.

Class fee is payable the day of class, but preregistration is required. Call 440-729-2782 for more information.

Cleveland in the Fab ‘50s

July 17, 11 a.m. to noon

Take a front row seat as the Cleveland History Center presents Speaking of Cleveland: Forgotten Tales from Cleveland’s Past in the Huxel Room at Chardon Senior Center. Pulled directly from the nationally-recognized collections of the Western Reserve Historical Society, the stories capture the innovation, the grit and the pride that characterize Cleveland’s past, present and future.

Sandusky VA Home Trip

July 26

Ohio eligible veterans are invited on a bus trip to visit Ohio Veterans Homes, which are a state agency comprised of two facilities, a home located in Sandusky and a home located in Georgetown, Ohio.

The bus will depart from Chardon Senior Center. Veterans and their plus one who are taking the tour need to arrive at the center by 7:30 a.m. and will return by 4 p.m.

There is limited accommodation for wheel chairs; call 440-279-2130 to check available space. All other participants should be able to ambulate independently.  Seating is for veteran plus one.

Lunch will be provided for veterans. Lunch for the guest is $4.
