  • Geauga Parks: Dec. 3, 1 p.m. Geauga Park District presents “Down on the Farm: Geauga County.”
  • Lunch and Learn: Dec. 4, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join at Mapleview Country Villa for “Protecting Your Identity for the Holiday Season.” RSVP by Nov. 30.
  • Geauga Renaissance Dec. 6, 11 a.m. All are welcome to enjoy the performance.

  • Giftpalooza: Dec. 3, 10 a.m. Gift making. Join for day one of two to create handmade crafts to share with friends and family. The senior center will feature two crafts (cost involved) and refreshments. Registration flyers are available at local senior centers or call for more information.

  • Geauga Parks: Nov. 28, 11-11:45 a.m. A Geauga Parks naturalist will present “Down on the Farm.” Call to register.
  • Healthy Holiday Eating: Nov. 30, 11 a.m. to noon. The Heinen’s Wellness Program will include a discussion centering around treats, main dishes, substitutions for those with allergies and ways to relax and enjoy the season.
  • Historical Cleveland Series: Nov. 30, 12:30-1:30 p.m. An educator from Western Reserve Historical Society will present “The Golden Age of Shopping in Downtown Cleveland.” Cost is $5 per senior.
  • Smartphone 101: Dec. 6, 12:30-3 p.m. Learn about phone apps.

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP Chapter 4527 will host its holiday party at Mangia! Mangia! restaurant, 11081 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township. Call Betty Scholz at 440-338-8321 for reservations.

If the Kenston School system is closed because of the weather, AARP will also be cancelled. Check local television stations for school closings.

The next meeting will be on Jan. 8. The program will feature motivational speaker Tom Strong on falling.

Perishables for the local Food For Friends food pantry, and for the Geauga Dog Shelter will be collected. Monetary donations are also appreciated.

Home Delivered Holiday Meals

The Geauga County Department on Aging will offer a free traditional meal to any Geauga County seniors, age 60 and older, who will be home and alone on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

There will be no regular Home Delivered Meal delivery or congregate meals on Dec. 25. Instead, holiday meals are available by preorder only.

Christmas Day meal requests are due by Dec. 17.
