  • Free Blood Pressure Screenings, Mondays, 10-11 a.m.
  • Benefits of Chocolate: Feb. 5, 10 a.m. Crossroads Hospice will present “The Emotional & Psychological Benefits of Chocolate” and offer samples.
  • Page of Pictures: Feb. 6, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Bring in photos and Home Instead will help seniors create a scrapbook page of memories.

  • Chair Exercises: Monday through Friday, 9:15-10 a.m. Class combines stretching, cardio and resistance bands.
  • Ask the Pharmacist: Feb. 6, 10:30 a.m. A representative from University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center Pharmacy will speak on popular medications for seniors as well as answer specific questions regarding medications.

  • Yarn Creations Group: Tuesdays, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Join other knitters and crocheters to learn and share patterns, new stitches and techniques.
  • Travel the World Series: Feb. 1, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Experience “Scenic Cruises of the World’ on the center’s big screen will be our topic.

  • Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meet at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road.
  • Fridays, activities will be out and about in the mornings, and end up at the Bainbridge Library, 17222 Snyder Road, in the afternoon from 1-2:30 p.m.
  • C.O.P.E.: Fridays, 9 a.m. Join other seniors experiencing grief after the loss of a loved one at Coffee with Other People Experiencing Grief (C.O.P.E.) at Panera Bread in Bainbridge Township. Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

Feb. 5, 1 p.m.

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP Chapter 4527 will meet at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road.

Rosalie Franek, exercise physiologist and owner of Right Path Massage and Fitness, will demonstrate different movements and exercises for seniors to do during the cold winter months.

The group is still collecting food and staples for the Food For Friends food pantry, and dog food, treats and blankets for the Geauga Dog Shelter. Monetary donations are also appreciated.

Meal Delivery Drivers

The Geauga County Department on Aging is in need of Home Delivered Meal drivers in Burton Village and Hambden and Huntsburg townships.

The meal routes start at the Chardon Senior Center located at 12555 Ravenwood Drive in Chardon.

The program delivers warm, nutritious lunches Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., to homebound seniors in the community.

Area agencies, organizations, churches and individuals 18 years old or older with a valid driver’s license, may volunteer. Training includes filing volunteer paperwork and a short orientation about the program. Volunteers can deliver meals on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or as needed/substitute basis.
