Amid the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Geauga County Probate Court Judge Tim Grendell presided over the adoption of a 5-year old boy this week.

“During these uncertain times, children need the stability of a permanent family now more than ever,” said court administrator Kim Laurie. “If you have a heart to adopt a child, and to provide the loving, stable environment they so desperately need, please do not let fear stand in the way.”

Adoption changes a child’s life and their new family for the better, Laurie said, adding Grendell believes there are no unadoptable children, but simply yet-unfound families.

“Today, we celebrated the adoption of this little boy, and the love of his new family. The hope created by all the families whose adoptions I have the honor of presiding over, always make for the brightest of days at the Probate Court, especially during uncertain times like these,” Grendell said in a statement.
