When Aquilla Village residents voted in 2024 to rejoin Claridon Township, ownership of 33 village-owned parcels transferred to the township. The village, originally part of the township, formed an independent entity decades ago. Several years ago, when village officials determined revenue could not sustain the village services, council voted to re-join the township.
