The Berkshire Schools Board of Education is weighing a possible earned income tax levy after several major revenue sources dried up over the last two years, leaving the district facing a projected deficit by 2028. At its May 11 meeting, the board unanimously approved a fiscal caution deficit reduction plan required by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. The plan must be submitted by May 18.
