Great Lakes Cheese Co. has agreed to transfer ownership of 5.16 acres at 17800 Great Lakes Cheese Parkway, Troy Township, to neighboring Blazin’ Bills in exchange for the 5.28 acres on which the restaurant currently is located.

The agreement is a major step toward an initiative both companies share, growth that is beneficial for their employees, customers, community and business, according to a Nov. 13 press release.

Blazin’ Bills will take this opportunity to update its restaurant and create an enhanced dining experience for its patrons while Great Lakes Cheese will use the property to expand and modernize its current campus operations, the release said.

Blazin’ Bills has an anticipated opening date of May 2019.

“We feel very fortunate and blessed to have been in the location we have for the past 32 years. We have grown to love the area as well as the patrons who have become family,” Blazin’ Bills owner, Joyce Piteo, said about the move.

“This past summer an opportunity arose for us to relocate to Great Lakes Parkway and we couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming changes,” she added.

Excavation of the Blazin’ Bills site has already begun. Construction will continue for approximately eight months.

“We are extremely grateful to have the support of Blazin’ Bills owners, Geauga County Commissioners, Troy Township officials and the Berkshire school district,” said Great Lakes Cheese VP of Strategic Projects John Epprecht. “Their diligent work on this project is a true testament to the kind of community we are lucky to be a part of.”
