Auburn Sets Enrollment Record
Auburn Career Center announced its largest incoming class in school history at this year’s Signing Day celebration. Current incoming enrollment, including the school’s 1-Year Academies, has reached 574 students, surpassing the previous record of just over 500.
The milestone follows changes to Auburn’s recruitment and enrollment process, including a streamlined application timeline and updated admissions procedures.
Signing Day gave incoming students the chance to sign a certificate of commitment to their career technical program, meet instructors and classmates, and mark the start of their Auburn experience.
“Students and families are recognizing the value of career-technical education and the opportunities Auburn provides to help students graduate with real-world skills, certifications and career pathways already in place,” said Superintendent Dr. Glavan.
In response to strong interest in healthcare programs, Auburn added two sections of its 1-Year Healthcare Academy, created for students previously on healthcare waitlists. Students can earn a multi-skilled certification through the program.
Due to continued demand for Auburn’s Cosmetology program, Dr. Glavan and the Auburn Career Center Board of Education approved a second Cosmetology section, adding 24 seats.
Auburn Career Center serves students from 11 member school districts and draws enrollment from 32 districts across Northeast Ohio. Each year, Auburn provides career and technical education to more than 900 high school students and more than 1,100 adult learners.
