Berkshire – Geauga Growth Partnership Career Day
The Geauga Growth Partnership and Berkshire Jr.-Sr. High School held its first Career Day at Kent State Geauga on April 24. The entire 10th-grade class participated in sessions covering soft skills, resume writing and interview training with Geauga County businesses and high school faculty.
The day kicked off with Great Lake Cheese owner John Epprecht and intern Hannah Tolman. Mr. Epprecht, Christian Klein and John Wilhelm addressed the students on soft skills. All of the students received colored wristbands, flash drives to save the presentations and their resumes.
Throughout the day, the students attended smaller sessions with teachers and business leaders.
Special thanks goes to the following people and businesses that made this day possible: John Epprecht, Stacey Barbe, Tamara Hagerty, John Wilhem, Frank Samuel, Les Bednar, Meghan Hull, Maria Ritter, Steven Epprecht, Cameron Mackaskill and Kelly Timmons, Great Lakes Cheese, Troy Chemical, L.E.A.F, Tangent, Ohio Valley, Duramax, Gold Key, Arms Trucking, Saint Gobain, Bonitas, Escape Design and Geauga Park District.
Outstanding Students Recognized
The East Geauga Kiwanis Club recently gave recognition to Burton Elementary School third-graders Macy Millet, Kirsten Mooney and Alescia Gonzales for being outstanding students as chosen by their teachers. They all received a certificate and four elementary fiction books from the club.
