Corporate Challenge Kickoff

Cardinal High School students are kicking off the Corporate Challenge with DA Surgical in Newbury Township. DA Surgical of Newbury is sharing real world business place problems to students at Cardinal High School to generate meaningful problem-based learning.

The students in Mr. Adam Boyle’s engineering class will be working collaboratively to solve a design problem DA Surgical is facing with one of their patient devices. The students will utilize 3D printers to aim to improve the functionality of the device.

The students in Mr. Luke Kruse’s AP macro economics class will be engaging in market research to determine breakeven points in the redesign of some of DA Surgical’s reusable products that are used in global markets where environmental restrictions are more stringent. This is a partnership between The ESC of the Western Reserve, local schools and The Geauga Business Advisory Council (BAC).

Jordak Halloween Parade

On Oct. 28, the A.J. Jordak Elementary School Huskie pups and their teachers paraded to the Briar Hill Nursing Home to show off their Halloween costumes. Jordak students were greeted by residents and staff hosting a trunk or treat for the children.

The children and the residents had a great time meeting and sharing with each other. Everyone enjoyed the candy. A special thank you to the staff at Ohman Family Living at Briar, the Middlefield Police Department for traffic control and the parents and grandparents who attended the parade.
